My Showreel 2014

Image
Watch in HD for better result. This is my latest show reel in which I have tried to showcase a few cool works done for Disney games. I got opportunity to animate the ever time classical characters of Disney includes Genie, Ursula, Merida, Cinderella etc. I have enjoyed so much working on those characters and I am privileged to get such chance. @fellow animators; If you takes this animations as reference, let me say these animations had done for games where size matters. We have to take care of the quality of the animation and the size of games well, which means, the designs must be the same and the animation must smooth, BUT we have to keep the game size light as possible too. It was challenging to optimize the animation as much as we can with out loosing the quality of the out put. The trick is, get rid of anticipations and settlings (cushioning) where ever possible or at least cut down the length. And also you know, do 4's instead of 2's. If you see the animation in depth, yo...

SwampFly

A couple of month ago, one of my game has been launched called "SwampFly". I designed and executed it with the great help of my friends 'HugeHop' . I would say, the game play is not new new, but I tried to make it much more 'artistic' without loosing the addiction factor and thrill. It is available in Android , iTunes, Windows and This is the 'first Indian Game' launched in Amazon Fire TV  =)

I am in DISNEY woohooo!!

Image
As you can see, I am an animator. If I think about what drove me to become an animator, I would say it is nothing other than WALT DISNEY’s charisma. Each of my childhood dreams has been coloured by Disney art and characters. I guess this is the same story of all artists from my generation. I always wondered how the hand drawn characters move. I always wished to move my drawings as if they were alive. If somebody has this passion inside his heart how can he concentrate on other stuff? My hands didn’t shiver when I threw away my LAWYER’s gown, which I had got after spending 6 valuable years. But I never thought that I will one day be a part of that great entertainment company which has almost 100 years of heritage. Yes folks, I am a DISNEY artist now!

Old but still FRESH!

Three to four years ago, I had to deliver something with my team. I had great belief in them but they were still growing at that time as artists and animators. One of our clients then sent us a pilot project to work on. The trick was, it was a 3D animated project and we had to crack it in Flash.  The storyboards required all 3d camera and character movements. We were an experienced flash team and not well versed in 3D. All my team members felt we should drop this project. I took this challenge up and decided to crack it. I knew I had the confidence and the knack to do something that seemed impossible.  By the Almighty's grace, everything went smooth. Here is one of the toughest shot in that pilot. Hope you like it.  'Pashu'  My home is located in a village and we have cows, ducks, Turkeys and chickens as pets there. It is funny to watch the lazy cows chewing =)  Another old stuff. Some of you guys can recall these in my old blog.

DOUBTSOURCING!

In Badmash, we had worked on an animated sitcom named 'Doubt sourcing'.It’s  about global collaboration, or the lack thereof, centered on a dysfunctional IT company in Bangalore, India. Even though most of the characters are Indian, the show is written for Americans. CLICK HERE to watch other episodes.

'The Story of Walls'

Image
Hey guys, I am glad to share with you that ‘The Story of Walls’ –an animated short in which I played the role of Animation Director has been nominated for Annie awards for the past year. It’s truly an honor for me. This short is directed by Pete Oswald . He had done the characters and the art direction too. I am sure; if you get a chance to watch it you can see his magic there. And the story was written by Sandeep Sood which is brilliantly Awesome. I have got a chance to work with some highly skilled artist there in Badmash Studios . I am blessed to get an opportunity to work with an awesome team which is truly passionate about the art. So congrats guys, let’s pray and hope for the best. We are not allowed to post the clippings, so I am posting some images (which I have stolen from Pete’s blog. Sorry Pete G) you can get clearer picture from Pete’s blog. “The Story of Walls” is an absurdist history of trade protectionism. Throughout history, our world has all...
