Old but still FRESH!

Three to four years ago, I had to deliver something with my team. I had great belief in them but they were still growing at that time as artists and animators. One of our clients then sent us a pilot project to work on. The trick was, it was a 3D animated project and we had to crack it in Flash.  The storyboards required all 3d camera and character movements. We were an experienced flash team and not well versed in 3D. All my team members felt we should drop this project. I took this challenge up and decided to crack it. I knew I had the confidence and the knack to do something that seemed impossible.  By the Almighty's grace, everything went smooth. Here is one of the toughest shot in that pilot. Hope you like it.  'Pashu'  My home is located in a village and we have cows, ducks, Turkeys and chickens as pets there. It is funny to watch the lazy cows chewing =)  Another old stuff. Some of you guys can recall these in my old blog.

My Contribution??

A genius film maker once said that his rejected projects were contributions to his original projects which later turned out to be films which made him win awards. I always believed in it. Rejected and deleted scenes and art have their own stories to tell. And I'm sure most of you all will agree with me on this. There is a growing number of deleted scenes and art work seen on youtube and art books. Most of the art work is not rejected because it wasn't worth putting it up on the screen but maybe because it just didn't fit in the storyline, the stylization, the visualization, the mood or the drama. Here are some of my own rejected artworks. I'm proud to post them...I learn a lot through them...and I will always learn through my own mistakes...

From memory

Masters said, if you are an artist, you should keep a pencil and a drawing pad with you all time. I cannot do that always, because of my laziness. It will be crazy when you don’t have any tool to draw and the subjects are raining in front of you. Here are something which made me MAD!

DOUBTSOURCING!

In Badmash, we had worked on an animated sitcom named 'Doubt sourcing'.It’s  about global collaboration, or the lack thereof, centered on a dysfunctional IT company in Bangalore, India. Even though most of the characters are Indian, the show is written for Americans. CLICK HERE to watch other episodes.

Story of WALLS!!!!!

Light Study!

I don’t know why, suddenly I felt my fingers are itching for some light study. And here is the result. I know you all are aware of the process very well. First of all I made a drawing or borders to fill the mass for lighting. Then I gave the values and checked thoroughly that without the colour everything is readable. Then I pour colour on it. Ok now the SHOW TIME. I played with the bright colour (almost white) and the dark colour (almost black) with opacity jitter brush. Believe me guys, it was really Fun!
